Platform Whisperer is in early development. The live board currently uses demo data.

Which platform will my train leave from at Euston?

Euston usually shows your platform only shortly before departure. Platform Whisperer gives you an unofficial prediction before then, based on past platforms, the train that forms your service and reports from other passengers. It moves through four stages, from Predicted to Confirmed. Always check the station screens.

Why does Euston show platforms so late?

At Euston the departure screens usually list a train without a platform until shortly before it leaves. Many people wait on the concourse and then move to the gate at the same moment, which can make the last few minutes crowded.

What does Platform Whisperer predict?

For each departure we show the platform we think is most likely and how confident we are. It is our own prediction, clearly labelled, and it is never presented as the official platform. Knowing the likely area early can help you avoid last minute crowding.

How is the prediction made?

  • Platform history: the platforms this service has used on recent days, when we have that history.
  • The inbound train: the train that arrives to form your service, and the platform it arrives at, when that information is available.
  • Crowd reports: what other passengers in the train room report, weighted by how reliable their past reports were.

Every train room shows a "Why this confidence?" breakdown so you can see which signals were used.

What do the four stages mean?

  • Predicted: our estimate before any firm evidence.
  • Inbound allocated: the train that forms your service is due into a platform.
  • Inbound at platform: that train has arrived and is being prepared.
  • Confirmed: the official platform has been announced.

Why should I still check the station screens?

Platforms can change, and our data can be incomplete or late. The station screens and staff are always the final word.
